    nuclear and you should be pointing that out - and the backend costs of nuclear when you have a meltdown - and even if you don't are HUGE.  Nuclear can't even be insured.  No one will cover it.  It is a canard to focus so heavily on front end investment in renewables and hold out nuclear as some sort of better alternative, imo.

      ... its not as if the argument is driving actual decision making, its just a talking point in support of an already decided on conclusion.

        have bought into, I am afraid.

        I see more comments about how renewables are prohibitively expensive while our government hands BILLIONS of dollars to the nuclear industry as if it is just "normal" or somehow "free".

        What we as the tax payers would have to pay if there was a nuclear disaster on a par with Japan's - never factored in.
