so common the "average right" type of person  - and astounded how often they say, "it's both sides" or "no, it's you violent liberals", in spite of facts not in evidence.

As with the unions and the protesters in WI being called "violent thugs".   Really?

You find it on blogs talking to them, too.  They don't talk politics, they hurl vitriolic names like spoiled 9-year-olds.

I guess name calling, swearing, flipping the bird, and sucker punches are thought to be patriotic.

Otherwise, I seriously just can not explain it.  Would love to read some psychologic or psychiatric takes on it.

and the behavior is correlated to that.

dachshund I had as a teenager.  Ferocious bark and growl, but inner coward.  She used to scare the crap out of the guys who came to take away the garbage.  I told them to just growl and charge at her and she'd run away.  They did just that the next time and there she was scratching and whining at the door to get in while the garbage collectors were laughing their asses off.

Republicans and Tea Baggers are just that.  They huff and puff and threaten to blow your house down as long as they think they have the physical advantage or numbers in their favor.  It's why the union stripping here in Wisconsin mostly involves unions with women in the majority (nurses, teachers, librarians, secretaries, clerks, etc.).  Exempt are the male-dominated (and Walker endorsing) police, firefighters, and State Troopers.

It's also why the Tea Bagging crowd only showed up (briefly) in Madison a couple of times and why the Stand With Walker bus tour quietly evaporated after the first day (each stop was met by  a couple of thousand protestors).

It's why they like guns and the military- it makes them feel powerful.  However, when it comes to them serving in the military or them stepping up to help someone being bullied or them fending off a robber or gang member, why they just pick up their skirts and run crying to mommy.

They're cowards at their core and need a strong daddy figure to tell them what to do.

There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.
