Are teachers supposed to teach "creation science" uncritically?  This is the part that baffles me.  I went to a Christian school where I pretty much learned in junior high science classes that 1) carbon dating was inaccurate and inconsistent, 2) no one can really tell for sure if the 'old earth hypothesis' is true, and 3) fossil evidence only raises questions about the creation narrative but shouldn't prove it false.

The problem with all the focus on "critical thinking" about evolution is that it attacks science without ever bothering to defend or explain it.  Teaching kids the arguments against science without ever teaching science?  That's not science.  It's talking points.

Stop clapping. Stop screaming. Open your mind. Listen.
