Haven't watched TV in a while, haven't watched Fox since before Bush was elected. This was completely pathetic- is this what passes for entertainment these days? I remember debate class in high school, and if Fox calls that a "political discussion", then they've obviously forgotten what a debate really is. Ann and Hannity both talk right over the other guy as if he doesn't have a damn thing worth listening to (and in their minds he doesn't). If there's one type of debater that pisses the hell out of me, it's the one that refuses to let you get a word in edge-wise. That's not a debate, that's an argument (with apologies to Monty Python.)

And sorry, I didn't see anything from Ann. Then again, my disgust with the whole thing might have clouded my judgement. This is why I no longer watch television.

...has been yet another conservative TV/radio tactic. They invite people on their shows, w/ the premise that they are "fair and balanced", yet completely drown out what the person's trying to say. So they get their cake and eat it too....they look as if they are opening the room for discussion of differing viewpoints, yet strong arm their guests, which ends up making them look like typical liberal weenies to the audience.

Extremely underhanded as a tactic, but it's been proven effective.

They neither debate nor argue, they ambush their guests (except on rare and very humorous occasions). What I don't get is why the guests often seem surprised? It's not like these tatics are a secret....so why not fight fire w/ fire?

Fox is NOT interested in cross aisle debates, they are interested in destroying the other side. Each and every time O'Reilly, Hannity, Ann, etc.....bully and shut down their opposition, it re-inforces the idea that the opposition is weak and not to be trusted. Not only do you NOT get the PoV the guest ws supposed to bring, you get them sitting there looking overwhelmed or stuttering. Hardly a ringing endorsement of them or their ideas.

      JMHO tho
