you lie with the dogs and your gonna end up with fleas...join them in the gutter that's your preogative but I for one don't believe in it. It's attacking her obviously outlandish (even for rightwinger) positions not anything personal, that only legitimizes the fact that they put it into practice.

Adults in politics are dissappearing and being replaced with 4th graders. I don't think you give "red-staters" enough credit, in some instances they may feel patronized by liberals but I don't think it's because we refuse to get in the gutter it's because people like Kerry can't talk to real people.

I live in one of the reddest the red states and have for all my life. Don't need to read papers or watch TV to understand why Dems aren't getting respect here.

If you want to labor under the delusion that Dems AREN'T in the gutter and full of fleas along w/ their Repub buddies, OK. However, I know fully well why Kerry didn't win around here. It was more about perceptions than anything else. If he couldn't stand up to the Swift Boaters, which he should have seen coming a mile away, how could he to Usama? Just an example.

The Dems who are elected hardly much distingush thmselves from the Repubs, IMHO. They have usually given in on major issues w/o as much as a whimper. This being the case, what's the point of voting for them?

Yes the political landscape IS full of 4th graders, but sometimes it's about the playground hierarchy. If you want in, you have to get respect based on the rules of the game. Trying to change the game midstream won't work.

I give these people the credit for choosing what messgeners they want to hear and why they want to hear them. The high ground doesn't loses elections. Meanwhile, Ann Coulter and the like continues to gain strength.

You do it your way and I'll do it mine. I have seen many good Democrats get elected without devolving to namecalling and personal attacks in red states and the reason is because they can and are willing to talk to their conservative neighbors and discuss the issues not because they are better at belittling right wingers.
