stuff called 'fur'. And, when they get hungry enough they have these things called 'claws' and 'teeth' for things like this.

Domestic cats are one of the last animals I would be worried about. How about the infants/children and elderly in threadbare shelters who aren't getting enough food/water/warmth/medication?

have a case for dogs because most of them are too small/dependent to survive alone. Besides, they'd probably get eaten by the cats.

        •  Really, the fucking gall (6+ / 0-)

of you, sitting on your comfy, safe ass, here in the USA suggesting the Japanese ought to just let their pets die. I'm sure they appreciate you making those choices for them. I suspect there's a lot of elderly and children in Japan right now who'd been infinitely comforted to know their beloved pets are safe. During disasters, losing a pet can be doubly devastated because not only do you lose an animal you loved, but you've lost a friend who could help you cope through the trauma. It's not like any Americans didn't go through that same heartbreak with Katrina or anything. Jesus fucking Christ. What exactly is your defect?

          •  You assume way too much. Just like a seppo... (0+ / 0-)

thinking they are talking to another lard-arse seppo.

Cats can fucking look after themselves. That's my fucking point. Human babies/infants/children until they are about 18/aged people/people who have been fucked over by an earthquake and a tsunami and nuclear fucking fallout...

            ...can't.

Now step the fuck off because nowhere did I suggest that anybody should let pets die.

And I'll thank you in advance for the apology for that slur.

            •  I find this whole thread surreal. (0+ / 0-)

I'm not sure what does it, the fact I expected the argument to be about prioritizing humans, and it's actually about how well cats survive without humans, or the fact the first thing that occurred to me reading the first post was:

"What about the cats?  You'd have to be pretty hungry to eat a cat."
