    Training does absolutely nothing to prepare people for the shock of the actual event.  Training can only help to get people used to a 'routine', or muscle memory of what to do.  Look at all the tornado drills we have all gone through over the decades.  Then look at what happens to the people when a tornado actually hits.

    I agree the death toll is going to rise exponentially.  I saw pictures of some of the tsunami coming in.  It was bad, really bad.  The earthquake damaged some of the flood doors, making them useless.  Then parts of the land sunk a full 3 feet, which helped to make the seawalls less effective.  Nevermind the actual height of the tsunami.

    It doesn't matter how 'rich' the country is.  They are our fellow human and they need our help.  Period.
