    which controls the funding in that case, should get over their need to control and allow the charter the parents wanted. The state DOE was having the school board reconsider the charter but, if they won't give at all, they will just drive more families to private school or homeschool.

      about how sad it was that rich people in the suburbs could not start charter schools to get away from their high performing public schools.

      I don't know what the presentation was like; perhaps it was a very good application for a school that should have been granted. But the story was awful.

        Yep, that's what the parents didn't want. A school where the kids are well enough off that they can be drilled to do extremely well on standardized tests. And that's all.

        I didn't realize this was a different story, though.

          rich kids being forced to go to a high performing public school, the other was about the tyranny of  poor people being allowed to choose a low performing public school.
