    The lack of a budget is going to severly impact those businesses- they can't renew annual contracts until a budget is in place (and "two week" extentions don't cut it when various departments are trying to negotiate deals.) If a company's year-end rolls around and they're unable to report those government contracts on their books, it can seriously hurt their stock prices.

    In other words, a government shut down is really bad for everyone, all around- both public and private sectors are affected. The GOP must realize this by now- are they really that desparate that they are going to tank the whole economy just to pander to their tea party base?
