    •  Her "constituents" are mainly grumpy (6+ / 0-)

seniors. And there are still plenty of them out here. As well as a lot of bigots, esp in the SE part of her district.

The demographics are changing as more Hispanics move into the district, but it probably won't be enough.

DuPage actaully flipped in 2008 and went 54% or so for Obama, but even then she won 56-44. The candidate ran again in 2010 (Harper) and got stomped.

DuPage is a classic example of independents who were sick of Bush and, while not really Dems, took a chance on Obama. When he wasn't able to magically wave a magic wand and solve every problem, they were all too ready to forget 2001-2008.

Voting for a republican because you are disappointed in Obama is like leaving your kids with a pedophile because you're pissed that the babysitter was late.

      •  Then someone should let the grumpies... (3+ / 0-)

...know about the GOPuppets attack on AARP and Social Security.  :)

      •  More nonsense (0+ / 0-)

I live in SE DuPage (Downers Grove Township) and it has the biggest, best organized Democratic twp organization in the county. There are a lot of indies in DuPage who don't want to be associated with the parties of George Ryan or Rod Blagiovich. But to say the SE part of the county is more conservative than Wheaton, Naperville, Addison or Bloomingdale is way off base.
