    Although I live in a different town now, I served on the Board of Civil Authority (election board) in a very small college town for many years before that. The students who register to vote in that town (they could register in their home town if they want to instead) do not vote in local matters as a rule. Because they're not interested and/or conscientious enough to note vote on stuff they know is not their business. They register to vore to they can vote for national & statewide offices and they do not overrun voting for the selectboard, cemetery commission or the school budget.
