    yet they're also actively building coal capacity. So actually, yes, it is a given that less nuclear means more coal in Germany. It means a lot more natural gas - gas accounts for over half of new energy installation in Europe. At least burning gas doesn't poison people daily to the same extent coal soot does, but it's still a CO2 emitter, and add in CH4 emissions from leakage throughout the production and delivery cycle, and you have indirect deaths from global warming.
