thorough way to do it is pass a bill that simply says that Due process and equal protection of the law in all respects shall not be denied on the basis of sexual orientation or gender, or transgendered status or perceived sexual orientation, gender or transgendered status.. Period. Covers a lot of ground in a few words, and fits into the other discrimination statutes and case law. I know that I have a different interest than many in 'gender' but otherwise one half or so of the LGBT+ constituency will still be at risk, just not necessarily for LGBT+ itself. The point being to do all of it at once so some classification does not leave many behind because the bigots say ono, it's not that I'm doing it for, but this. Perceived is in the suggestion to cut off the folk who say they wouldn't fuss about something biologically determined but still insist that their bias is based on totallly volitional conduct.
