    School lunch is about as low as you can go. Children being treated like cattle which is partly how the system got so bad. Testing actually raises the value of student achievement for the faculty. I have seen it happen, the pressure to bring the low performers up is greater than ever. As far as the quality of the curriculum, until we can get them to keep basic facts down the high minded ideals will have to wait for high school. Not that enrichment and curiosity stimulation don't aid teaching the basics through the development of critical thinking skills.
