  •  In the meantime... (18+ / 0-)

I've been busting my ass for 10 years working for the state, only to see my paycheck get smaller while my workload gets bigger.

    C'mon, January 2012!

April is Autism Awareness Month. Are you aware?

and I honor you for that.  I am a retired state of Florida employee.  I worked in the Department of Health & Rehabilitative Services (HRS) which is now renamed the Department of Children & Families.  I worked my ass off as a Foster Care Counselor, Child Protective Investigator and Supervisor (CPI & CPIS), Juvenile Justice Worker, and other positions, with heavy caseloads that were beyond all reason.  My personal life suffered (I was a single parent) and I have health problems now that I am over sixty -  partly related to the high stress career.

My monthly retirement is a grand total of - ta da... $455.00.  That is not a typo.  Fourteen years.  Fourteen years of working and giving my all to abused and neglected/throwaway children that most people could not care less about.

And these assholes like Walker, and Florida's Governor Rick Scott and spoiled, undesergving jerks like Brian Deschane have the gall to demonize other state employees and teachers and first responders and the common working person?  Damn!  This is absolutely unbelievable.

Something needs to be done to end the craziness, the insanity that allows these jerks to be elected and to appoint incompetent donors/donors' family members/sycophants and other rabble.  Civil Service systems were designed to weed out the invompetents and to prevent nepotism.

      Unbelievable.
