  •  That's one scenario... (none)
But, before then, we liberals face the prospect of being demonized and hated for our opinions.  Face it; in their eyes, liberalism is treason and there can be no compromise.  We are to be eradicated.

A Congressman is joking about rounding up liberals and shipping them away.  Today, everyone laughs.

Pretty soon they'll stop laughing at those type of comments.  I'm very concerned that this isn't going to end well.

    •  we will not be their monkey (none)
I don't think it'll come to that. We're dealing with people that have all the civility of Eric Cartman. The problem is that we're being put on the defensive too often. They say something patently absurd and we, for the most part, jump through their hoops just as they wanted us to in an effort to distract us from any actual debate of issues.
      •  When Cartman grows up... (none)
... and has power, the result isn't going to be pretty.

Just go onto the Yahoo Message boards.  These people really hate us.

Holy crap those people are nutty. You want to see the Right at its lowest form. And in such large volume, too. It only takes about 30 seconds before a post is knocked off the first page of comments. Ever since Hannity equated liberals to terrorists and despots on the cover of his book, it hasn't been pretty.

The scary part is that, because many of them are registered to vote, they might get called to serve on someone's jury.

      •  Its already come to that (none)
We are preparing for war in 2006, not an election.

        •  rhetorical level (none)
Sure, on the level of rhetoric, war has been declared. War was declared [as I said elsewhere] when Hannity likened liberals to terrorists and despots under the pretense of evil on the cover of his book. Gibbons is just the latest in a long line of conservatives to lob ham-fisted ad hominem at the left.

2006 will be interesting, depending on how heated the Soc Sec debate gets.

          •  exactly (none)
There is no middle ground in that scenario.  It is war.  We need to accept that.
