  •  7,000 Stood in Solidarity w/ Wisconsin..... (4+ / 0-)

today in Olympia, Washington state.  Union members from all over the state came to Olympia to rally in solidarity w/ the people of Wisconsin.

Parents, children, nurses, firemen, police officers, healthcare aides, teachers & seniors were there too.  It is our 4th protest over cuts in education, healthcare & workers rights at our capitol this week.

50 have slept overnight in the Rotunda for the last two nights....l7 have been arrested.  They were proud to be arrested as they stood up for the workers.

Wisconsin: You are our inspiration.  We will NOT leave your side.  Not now....not ever.

Between your comment and this diary, I feel a whole lot better about our situation in WI than I did just 24 hours ago.  This situation in Waukesha County coming to light was like a hard punch to the gut.  It really hurt.  But, knowing we're not alone in our struggle against people who really do mean to do us and our normally tranquil state harm, we are NOT going to back down.  We can't.  We're with you too, Olympia and all the rest of Washington!  Thanks so much for your wonderful comment, snapples!  It literally made my day.  Together we WILL win over these ideological creeps.   And THEN we will celebrate!

Objecting to our governor’s policies does not make a citizen of Wisconsin a criminal. Not yet, anyway. ~ nelangst
