  •  But the GOP was not emboldened by ............ (4+ / 0-)

....... Obama's executive order reaffirming the Hyde Amendment.

Let's stop being naive:  Color me shocked that, for the GOP, it all comes back to a woman's privacy and the fact it was pissed on before by a Democratic president.

Small wonder, that's the issue now.

    To the GOP:  Well played.

To the Democrats:  Actions have consequences.

Was that a dog whistle or did you just fart?

Business always needs more hungry workers, that will work underpaid for scraps. MIC needs cannon fodder, PIC need prison fodder. Construction industry needs housing & apartment starts - actually almost every economic indicator improves with household starts. Any time a woman avoids or terminates a pregnancy that will mean less profit down the line, so there must be babies!

Attacking women is also part of "divide and conquer". It's easier for the think tanks to push "it's all the fault of selfish women" to distract from how much the rich are stealing from the poor & middle class. "You're selfish if you don't support your betters in the lifestyle they're entitled to" is a hard sell, even if the top 1% agree.
