  •  That is a good question (4+ / 0-)

It sounds as if she "imported" a spreadsheet for each district and then when they did their verification they were checking the spreadsheet with the paper "tapes" that they received from the polls.  (And I could be blowing through my a** here.)  And I thought, when she talked at the conference that she found the discrepancy during that verification (which should have included the 80 year old).  But the 80 year old is saying she knows nothing about no "found" votes.  She just knows that the verified the tapes against the data base.  Now it doesn't seem to me that it would be that hard to substitute a tape.  But what do I know.  The only problem is, if somebody remembers the totals and questions it or IF THERE IS A RECOUNT!  So to doctor a tape for just enough votes to get past a state paid recount might give Kathy some cover, she might think.

And in some states a recount would just be rerunning the tapes.  Would a doctored taped be noticed?

All compromise is based on give and take, but there can be no give and take on fundamentals. Any compromise on mere fundamentals is a surrender. For it is all give and no take. Mohandas Gandhi
