a Democratic challenger has of making is putting a member of an different party in the White House. And that "if things get so bad, the people will revolt and elect a pure progressive" thing has been totally debunked. The problem is that by the time that had any chance of occurring, even if people were in revolt, the electoral system will have been so destroyed they won't have a voice. We're looking at leaping light years beyond Citizens United — many more initiatives to diminish the voice of anything but money.

    So — no.

    No, no, and no.

    •  Yeah, but you're assuming... (0+ / 0-)

... no Democrat could beat Obama in the primaries. You might be right, but it's not a certainty. On the other hand, I'm doing some assuming of my own.... I'm assuming that if a Dem from the Left defeated Obama, or if a really good indepedant (Sanders?) ran in the Fall, that either of them would be allowed to win... and once they win, that they'd make it to inauguration day. Pretty sad that that assumption is ALSO not a certainty.
