In some locales, weather provides the excitement when there's nothing else exciting in life.

Ok, now you're giving away our secret! The weather truly is amazing to experience out here on the plains, and especially when things get crazy like today. When I left got home from work about 4 p.m. it was 70 degrees with a south wind. By the time we got the dogs walked and supper done it was 44 degrees with a north west wind and it's snowing about an hour west of here. We're supposed to get snow and 40-50 mph winds tomorrow with a low about freezing. Of course by Saturday it will be back to 72 degrees...

and it's exciting, everyone feels endangered although very few or none actually are impacted.

My wife and I were in New Haven during snow storm that dropped 13 inches (New Haven isn't prepared for it like, oh, Des Moines, is...).  It took us 5 hours to get home - a trip of 7 miles - and we didn't actually make it there, we "parked" the car in a snowdrift and walked the last 100 yards.

Next day was a snow day for Connecticut.  The freeways were clogged with parked cars, no work got done, and we all heaved a sigh of relief to be in our warm abodes.

Now that's what I call FUN!
