by the Government Accountability Board a special election is held.  GAB has already announced that it will try to do as many as possible on the same day to save election costs.

against  a candidate opposing the officeholder being recalled.  The winner gets the office.  GAB is targeting July 12 as the single recall election date for all the districts in which a recall is taking place, per my understanding.

on a single day, too, and return sanity to the State Senate.  Nicer weather for the campaign workers, too.

          Dem objections, per TPM.

A Dane County, WI judge has approved a request by the state Government Accountability Board (GAB), which oversees elections in the state, to delay some state Senate recall elections and consolidate them into one day on July 12. In the course of making that decision, the judge turned back Democratic objections that some of their recalls should proceed as quickly as possible in June.

It's important information.  Dems wanted a June date so students would still be at the university and wanted to avoid summer vacations of voters.  Not gonna happen that way.

Who picks the person to run against the opposition Candidate? Is there an earlier election for the opposition candidate?

that the elections are scheduled for July 12.  All in one day.  Source was a guy from The Nation," Wisconsin beat, who was being interviewed by Thom Hartmann. He had A LOT to say about the amount of money the GOP was planning on funneling into the recall elections.  Rove was in Madison last week surveying the territory.

Of course, the GOP understands that Citizen United can be even more powerful on a state and local level. He mentioned that Alberta Darling already has electronic billboards up on highways that lead into Milwaukee. Electronic billboards are as expensive as it gets. Which is why I think it's so important that we all contribute what we can afford to the Wisconsin democrats.

Except for you, Puddytat.  You and the rest of those amazing volunteers have done more than your fair share---and God Bless you for that.

      •  I hear about July 12, too (5+ / 0-)

Darling opened a campaign office right after her recall started.  She knew that since she lost by so little in her last election that she would face being recalled this time.

Walker has already been on the road fundraising.  I'd like to know how much taxpayer money has gone into all those out of state trips (his security detail is huge).  I'd also like to know how he reconciles his many statements about "outsiders" in the protests with his acceptance of so much outside loot.

Wouldn't each person be in a different district with different election staff?

Also what happens next? How is the position filled once it is empties by recall?

    •  The GAB isprojecting a date of July 12 but (1+ / 0-)
