    even though something is leaking into it as well (see article linked below re: why they stopped using the condenser or my comment here). Then transfer some more trench water in there. Not an ideal solution but it buys them time till they find an alternate storage tank.

    It took them 2 days to pump 660 tons of water. They need to add in time to do the actual pumping before it hits the top of the trench.

    I thought they said they were going to so something next week because the headline of the NHK article stated they were going to transfer water next week.
    Contaminated water to be transferred next week But the quote is:

    TEPCO plans to use a waste-processing facility to store the contaminated water. It hopes to start that work by the end of next week.

    It's not clear what "that work" refers to. Putting the waste processing facility together? Actually moving water?

    The same article:

    TEPCO plans to use makeshift storage tanks to hold most of the highly radioactive water.
    Maybe those will be ready sooner.
