There's no union where I work, and I doubt there ever will be.  Not that the company is anti-union or anti-employee; far from it -- it's employee-owned and is well-regarded in its field for being employee-friendly.

Both my Dad (American Postal Workers Union) and wife (Oregon Education Association) were/are union members.  I grew up around unions.

But I'm not an absolutist.  I think nearly everything has shades of gray.  There may be very good reasons -- real, life-altering reasons -- for crossing a picket line.  In general, I won't do it, but I won't automatically condemn those who do without knowing more about them.

You're entitled to your opinion, but keep in mind some of the stupidist, most cruel things that happen in this world happen because some people are fanatics; unwilling to compromise. I generally view "zero tolerance" policies of any kind as the last refuge of the unthinking.

about shades of gray. I think it's useful to live life that way (I want to be a vegetarian for all sorts of reasons but that burger looks good sometimes).

But, on two things--free speech and picket lines--I am an absolutist. And acknowledge that that may cause friction with friends and colleagues.
