    Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are individualistic rights granted by this country. Nobody can take your life from you. But that's way different than requiring a third-party person to fund your doctor if you get hurt - or if you eat too many BigMacs and get type 2 diabetes.

    I mean, every American in history has either died or will die. Our founders weren't intending to thwart that, with it's guarantee of life.

    And your desire to breathe could certainly be a want. People choose to trade their lives for things all the time. People sacrifice their lives for their children. People sacrifice their lives for their country. People tend to view their life as pretty valuable, but not necessarily more valuable than anything. There is a ranking of value in people's minds, and your life just tends to have a lot of value to you.

    In other words, people treat their lives very similarly to how they treat everything else they buy.

    Try looking at things another way.
