I support quality public education.  I just am tired of being labeled a right wing nutcase by some who thing homeschooling is only for wingnuts.

It's not.  There are a LOT of progressive homeschoolers and we have no desire to isolate or otherwise "brainwash" our kids.  I brought in survivors of the McCarthy witchhunts when I was teaching "The Crucible", my kids learned social action very young, went to pride parades and many many antiwar protests.  They are good people now and homeschooling allowed us to do things we could not otherwise have done.

      UnAmerican. I abhor those suggestions.

envious of your kids' experiences.  Ours attended a good small town public school where all three schools (K-12) were within the same 2 block campus. We supplemented a lot in most fields - science and all the histories,  reading & discussing novels and the very early addition of algebra, which they enjoyed to no end.  I was likely the only mother at our church with a purse full of equation worksheets to occupy the children.   ;)

      The truth always matters.
