    to get my picture!

    I didn't know they wintered coastal.  They are everywhere in the summer here in the mountains.  Got a great Gray Squirrel pic too...but this is the bird diary!

      ever.
          I had to work right around a nest of four hungry hungry babies, and the adults came and gave me a talking to, but when I talked nice back they settled down and chased around near me and picked up the spiders I had to stir up.
        Then they'd tell me all about it with a mouthful of caterpillars and spiders.
        One of my Lifers, heh.

      And the nest was about three feet off the ground in a potted plant right off a patio and pathway used by the world's elite bank robbers and their inheritees.

      I showed the grounds staff and asked them to be careful for another week or so...
         This year there were Juncos around but weren't nesting where I was.
