    ...unfortunately.

    I thought there wasn't any significant difference between Obama and Hillary Clinton on the issues, but that Obama ran a vastly superior campaign, both in terms of effectiveness and tone (HRC's campaign was deeply ineffective and incredibly cynical).

    Kucinich was clearly a progressive but was just as clearly incapable of winning (not because he's too progressive, but because he's a nebbish).

    Edwards was far and away the most progressive electable candidate...but it turns out he wouldn't have been electable in all likelihood.

    Given the field, Obama was probably the best we could have done.

    But that's a tremendous indictment of the field of available Democratic Presidential candidates in 2008.
