    I always wondered what it would take to get voters to say "enough."

    Certainly, cuts to the poor didn't bother them much.

    Cuts to many government agencies didn't seem to bother them much.

    But trashing their kids' schools seems to be different.

    Ideology is an excuse to ignore common sense.

      I have seen credible numbers that if we were to pass a cuts only budget and K-12 took a proportional hit it could mean up to over a 1000 bucks per kid -- on top of what has already happened. I have twins in first grade -- do the math on 25 kids x 1000 bucks and you start getting the picture of what is at stake here.
