My concern for the country with the conservatives not being held in check by a minority government outweighed that of giving Jack a vote under a fickle first past the post system.  When we finally get around to copying New Zealand and member proportional voting, then I won't be hesitant to really vote how I feel, rather than voting strategically.

How many different pollsters telling you the same thing will it take before you realize the NDP surge is real, that the Liberals are finally collapsing around our ears, and that even if they weren't, the Liberals continually supported confidence motions.  What did we end the count at, 50?  60?  I don't believe voting for Harper-lite is change, but if that's the best your riding can do...

However my attitude right now is ABC.  I'd like to see the NDP hold a lot more power in the levers of government, but have seen too many elections where majority governments happen with support only in the high 30% range.

Get out there and vote folks and make the best decision you can for Canada.

I'm on the West coast, smack dab in the Vancouver suburbs.  The surge has brought everyone out.  I'm out here in Douglas, and this seat's been NDP longer than I've been alive.  Nice to see it spreading to the rest of the city and province.
Where are you that ABC is still the top voter sentiment?

Where you have an ex-NDP premier running as a Liberal incumbent (Bob Rae).  I used to live in Jack's riding.  The city hasn't had a Tory elected in it since the PC's massive defeat in 1993. (Even prior to that many were Red Tories - heck even one PC incumbent that lost in 1993 came back the next election...as an NDP candidate).

One of the NDP candidates here has a last name Cash.  So it makes for great signage (given that the Tories are not doing much for cities across the country) - "Cash for Toronto".
