yesterday, i commented that i lived in argentina and found the people very kind...a poster joined in with "mexican cabdrivers told me argentines are arrogant",

i responded "i love mexicans, but mexicans are jealous of argentines because they can never win a football match between the two countries!"

this poster's next comment was, "are you white? you sure sound like it!"

what can you do with that kind of brain?

If I'm not sure whether a thing I'm about to say about whites could be racist, I'll insert 'black' or 'Jewish' and see how that feels. If it feels wrong, as in:

"are you black? you sure sound like it!"

      or

"are you Jewish? you sure sound like it!"

I usually decide to not say this about whites, either.

(I know there's instances where this doesn't work, it's more a general rule of thumb.)
