    It's always been better.  

    The strain of corruption and corporate control has actually been strong in MA, NY, CT, and RI for a long time -- it's just that most of our businessmen in the NE aren't fucking morons and recognize that strong public services are part of what make them strong.

    VT is another matter.  VT is a model to emulate.
