  •  What phobia? (0+ / 0-)

Phobia is not merely a term for any sort of fear.  It has to be an irrational fear to be a phobia.  His statements about Islam are one of the few times he's actually being rational, and unlike hypocrites like Pastor Terry Jones, he's not just saying that to shill for the Christian fundamentalism position that all non-Christian religions are satanic.  He's against the Christian fundies too.  He recognizes religon in general as a problem and Islam as one of the strongest examples of that problem.

None of which, of course, has a damned thing to do with race.  If anything, the attempt to deliberately conflate a belief system with a race is ITSELF just as disgustingly racist as Breitbart is.  It's the attitude that "those brown people all think alike".  No.  They Don't.  Just because someone is an Arab doesn't automatically mean that person isn't, say, an atheist.  (Although it probably does mean they have to keep silent about it if they live in the middle east).

Don't presume being against a religion and being against a race are the same thing.  Religion is much more of a choice than race is.
