    It is a fact that the judge made famous in the song was, in fact, blind.

    I was passing through his neck of the woods and he and his son Abe drove by coming the other way. Arlo is so, well, Arlo. It's hard to not recognize him.

    I was in the area researching the death of an elephant about 150 years ago. Really. I'll get around to writing a diary on this oddball topic soon. Preparation of painful pachyderm puns is progressing.

    Rick Robbins, one of the others arrested for littering, still sings at The Guthrie fairly often. Alice Brock lives "down the cape" now.  Officer "Obie" Obanhein was the arresting officer. The story of Alice's Restaurant is not fiction. It's not even exaggerated (much).

    Let's just hope that justice prevails in Wisconsin. I was born and grew up in Wisconsin. The current situation just tears me up.

      that claimed to know that group back in the day. she lived in that area. made for a very fun class. so i know the story is true. up to and including being rejected after being drafted... for littering. i ran across her in WA state. small world, eh?
