Killing bin Laden was wrong. We should not have done so. Violence is often put into a sense as if it were justifiable. It never is. Theres no "more" or "less" just killing.

In world war 2, the allies were wrong for attacking the axis. The axis was even more wrong, because it started it and forced people to die or defend.

what al qaeda did was monstrous. But violence only begets violence.

I hope everyone here can understand my meaning behind this, and my understanding of events. But I do not feel that anyone, on any side, is ever correct when intentional killing is involved.

I dont live in a fantasy world mind you. But by objecting utterly to all violence, i hope i can move the conversation more toward where i want it.

I just cant justify, or cheer on, the death of a human being. Now matter how horrific and mosntrous that human was.

I will not be posting like this again. I just felt that I needed to say it, because I hate violence and I hate death. There are no innocents in that world, not even myself. But please, please please remember, that a human being died.

Is that really cause for the sort of celebration you see going on? Yes, from what i can tell, this man needed to be stopped and had shown a strong ability to escape nonlethal measures.

But a human did die today, at our hands. Thankfully, it seemed we took him down with far more dignity than with Sadaam, who we just tossed to the wolves.

Bad people, yes. But still people.

the facts are that letting a mass murderer live encourages more mass murderers

      killing him was self defense

if you are trying to tell me who Obama really is... i've already stopped listening

    •  Attacking the Axis was wrong?! (5+ / 0-)

Today is Yom Hashoah -- Holocaust Remembrance Day.  Twelve million Jews, Roma, gays, Jehovah's Witnesses, political undesirables, cognitively disabled people, and others were slaughtered systematically and in cold blood by those Axis countries, and you dare come here TODAY to claim that putting an end to Axis power was wrong?

If you think all violence is wrong, then you do live in a fantasy world.  Defending the defenseless by any means necessary is NEVER wrong.  What is wrong is leaving them to their fate, then claiming you did so out of respect for human life.

I agree that celebrating anyone's death in the streets is inappropriate, but there's a big leap between that and saying that putting an end to mass murder is morally wrong.

America, America, God mend thy every flaw! Confirm thy soul in self-control, thy liberty in law.

a mass murderer. Our justice system had issued a warrant for his arrest. He refused to surrender when they went to arrest him,and he attacked them. They had no choice but to respond or lose their own lives.

This is how a civilized nation of laws handles criminals.
Our guys did everything by the book, and he gave them no choice.

      And they did their jobs.
I congratulate them, and everyone involved for risking their lives to bring him to justice.

If we were to catch him alive, what would we do with him?

Gitmo or bring him to NY to stand trial?

Now does anyone really believe he is with 72 virgins?
