    tell people how to react. Just because you prefer not to cheer doesn't mean others should follow your way.

      If you're 'cheering', if you're 'celebrating', if you're 'jubilant', you might want to sit down and ask yourself whose ideas inform such feelings.  Which side of the political spectrum celebrates death?

      I have to admit, I had a bit of "Hot damn, they finally got him!". But it was passing. Am I glad he's gone? Mostly. Since he's dead he's now going to be a martyr and try as we might we can't kill a martyr.

      As soon as you have people telling other people how to live/think/behave because "god gave them authority" you effectively get dictators in funny looking hats.

        but I'm not glad that they had to kill him to do it and I agree 100% with this:

        Though I would qualify it by saying that I am "cheering, celebrating and jubilant" that they caught him, not because he's dead.

        I, for one, will never celebrate death.
