I don't think anyone will "rest easy" in the world as it is today.  But I am grateful that we have a calm and focused leader who is willing to wait for the hard intelligence and thoughtfully consider the options and who is generally above the partisan crap that passes for news and politics today.  I am grateful that he engaged in a measured action and that civilians were not killed and that none of our commandos were injured or killed.  I hope that it boosts the morale of not only our troops but all the rest of us as well.

I find it so ironic that while the media were running to ground the birther story, fawning over Trump, the President was running to ground real, and valid intelligence about bin Laden's compound and planning to take him out.  Perhaps the President was waiting for such a moment as this, when he needed the media to be distracted by their own foolishness, to release the long form birth certificate.  And to think that some diarists on this site last week were calling him an appeaser.

you are so correct.  I think this is an example of how we never know what is really going on behind the scenes and we should be mindful of it.  It is amazing how the President went on with other non-sense all the while making these decisions.  And no one knew.  Certainly takes the wind out of many things including why it "took him so long."  For the millionth time, he is dealing with geopolitical issues on a scale none of us can imagine.  Sigh.
