"In the last months, we've seen journalists threatened, arrested, beaten, attacked, and in some cases even killed, simply for doing their best to bring us the story... to give people a voice, and to hold leaders accountable.

And through it all, we've seen daring men and women risk their lives for the simple idea that no one should be silenced... and every one deserves to know the truth.

That's what you do. At your best, that's what journalism is. That's the principle that you uphold.

It is always important, but it is especially important in times of challenge, like the moment that america and the world is facing now."

those who would only think "mundanely/dull7" about this quote would consider Anonymous the enemy, and not the "intervening friend." though those in higher govt will question that, in truth, in the end, Anonymous is meant to serve truth - however "premature."

if we are to remove ourselves from the 70's/80's mire of "arms for hostages," "wars through proxys" (who come back to bite us twenty/thirty years later), then we are destined to promote this "diplomatic reckoning" to the forefront, whether we like it or not. we could either bump around in the dark, continuing to think we "fool" other nations with our covert actions, or come clean about them. with or against our will.

the good news: the mass of the u.s. populace won't know/don't care/won't believe we ever did/or will be tea party members, loud and crazy and super-marginalized by now.

diplomatically, quietly, the state dept. goes around and reassures other countries - we aren't the u.s. of the seventies/eighties. we've (hopefully) now got all our friends on the table, and our "enemies" (if we truly have any after sunday) to the side of the room but calm and collected and not in some sort of warlike panic. (like we always picture ourselves NOT being, although we've continually contracted warlike actions/bombings/occupations/what have you, since, oh, 1940. started with good intentions; went on a little too long.)

many resort to "yeah, america's fuckin' fucked up - but everyone else is worse." these people, we must be cautious of the most.

THE REPUBLICANS WANT TO TAKE IT ALL FROM US, AND GIVE IT TO THEIR BENEFACTORS - THE SELFISH. DO NOT -LET- THEM - FOOL YOU. for them to FOOL you, takes YOU LETTING THEM. CONCENTRATE. FOCUS. REMEMBER THE PAST. IT IS RELEVANT TO THE FUTURE.

      Say what?

I'm trying to concentrate, but can't seem to parse this line.  I care.  A little help here...

Democracy is the most fundamental revolutionary principle. Information is the ultimate key.

it was two pretty large subjects tossed into one post. try reading the paragraphs succeeding this way...
