of the same profession (and like the Boys on Car Talk might say, "The ghosts of Thurgood Marshall and Benjamin Cardoza cringe when we say it "Yoo" and "professional" in the same sentence), I'm still stunned at the notion that deliberate, malignant stupidity is NOT considered professional misconduct.

And when I become president of the ABA and I re-write the ethics rules, I'm gonna make the famous words of Jason Stackhouse part of the Canon:

Evil is making the premedicated decision to be a dick.

Plenty of very smart people of all professions wind up looking foolish when confronted with facts counter to their stated position - because they allow ideology to Trump, So to speak, their otherwise good rational thinking. It's painful to watch.

But that's what Ideology - and Dogma, by another name - does. It corrupts critical thinking. And thinking is work; too many people just skip that step and go for Dogma, ideology and talking points.

I'd like to know more about how someone as smart as John Yoo wound up where he is.

maybe students at Berkley just need to stop taking any of his courses and let him disappear into obscurity - or more likely, a Wingnut think tank.

Without geometry, life is pointless. And blues harmonica players suck.
