    I asked a vet tech friend about this:

    "I would suggest either getting an rx for tramadol for the dog that would be better than neurontin, but they can use neurontin for dogs but my gut reaction is that is not the pain control the dog needs. The dog can get her own rx for neurontin. But please pass along that it can not be stopped abrutly or it can make the dog have seizures. Also some vets offer discounts of up to 10% off to disabled people. Also no tylenol, advil or ibuprfen for dogs!!!"

    I hope this gives you some ideas as to what to discuss with your pet's vet.
