    I don't think it's funny at all.

I wasn't born in Texas, but my parents were and my kids were and I've lived here for 30+ years -- despite my blog name which I got when I thought I had moved to Seattle for good.

I get frustrated and massively annoyed with all the bullshit going on here, but writing off the state the way so many progressives seem willing to do just isn't funny.

I especially LOVE the "keep Austin" comments. I live right outside of Austin right now, and lived right in the middle of it for many years. Let me tell those of you whose only view of Austin is the clubs on Sixth Street: Austin is as full of assholes and jerks as the rest of the state. The morons from Houston and points north of the Red River are working diligently to shut down the "Live Music Capital of the World" by putting condo developments on Lady Bird Lake and complaining about all the "noise" from the clubs. I moved to the Austin area in the '70s. What is left now is a shell of its former self, and crumbling fast.

Maybe more progressives and Democrats should move to Texas -- instead of bashing it from afar. I've been following Texas politics most of my life, and the only thing that is going to save this state is a huge infusion of Democrats to push out all the Yankee Republicans that are ruining the place.
