  •  Milwaukee public elem schools losing music ed! (0+ / 0-)

That's what we hear. I haven't heard that the state and No Child Left Behind were going to stop testing in this subject. Thanks, Scott Walker for helping to widen Milwaukee's racial achievement gap.

I don't think he truly understands how much damage he is doing. I don't think he has the intellectual tools. He's just a puppet, propped up and manipulated by the Koch brothers. They're lucky to have found someone like him, willing to sell out his state for 30 pieces of silver. He's lucky they found him, too. Without a college degree and the Koch brothers' patronage, his career would be nonexistent.

he doesn't care.  Once we took civics out of the classroom and let Texas write our history texts we lost all sense of why we have public schools, legal abortion, Social Security, Medicare, unemployment insurance, food stamps and the other social programs,

Walker and Ryan and all the other baby Republican monsters have no memory of what life was like for so many people before safety nets.  They have lived in a world that has always provided those things; but if (when?) they succeed in getting rid of these things, it won't take long for people to realize they've been duped and screwed.  I just hope it won't be too late.

      •  Excellent point. (0+ / 0-)

The only good that can come of destroying social investments like Social Security and Medicare is that the government will have to foot the bill for folks like me who were depending on them, giving birth at last (I hope) to the single payer system. Either that or we'll be sent to our local Republican campaign headquarters for euthanasia like in the movie "Soylent Green."
