I'm asking why the President would want to distance himself from Simpson. The President gave Alan Simpson this platform, and Mr Simpson has acted just as anyone who's ever heard of the guy would've told you he'd act.

were ragging on me for suggesting the President might regret this appointment not.

But, your suggesting this is playing out just as President Obama hoped.

By, carving out such an extreme attack on our social programs, President Obama can declare a great progressive victory if he limits our losses to only 25% of something.

This would be sad if true.

      But, you may be right.

      •  I have an incredibly hard time creating a picture (0+ / 0-)

in my head of this President upending the card table and demanding a new game. He'd have to admit his own Commission was a failure built on zombie lies. Then he'd have to spend months creating a whole new (true) narrative to compete with bullshit deficit hysteria that he has spent all this time playing up.

Plus, for whatever it's worth, he might simply not agree with our position.
