Irreducible complexity (creationism) vs turtles all the way down (science)

In the past I have taught my own list of "criteria of a good scientific theory":
    1. Productive of new knowledge
    2. a natural mechanism
    3. testable

Then when someone brings up a biblical "theory", I have only to ask, "Is it testable? Does it have a natural mechanism?" and I don't hear any more about it.

But the people pushing creationism are not going to be happy having it taught that way.

Light is seen through a small hole.
