  •  What an exciting and wonder-full time that was. (5+ / 0-)

The music was our internet, twitter, facebook etc. I feel very lucky to have been young then. There was so much to do and to change. To get an idea of what our generation came out of watch PBS tonight at nine, The Freedom Riders.

      they remain the same.

Some selected lines from "Subterranean Homesick Blues":

You don't need a weather man
To know which way the wind blows
      Ah, get born, keep warm
Short pants, romance, learn to dance
      Get dressed, get blessed
      Try to be a success
Please her, please him, buy gifts
      Don't steal, don't lift
      Twenty years of schoolin'
And they put you on the day shift
      The pump don't work
'Cause the vandals took the handles

That middle verse, by the way, is one of the of the most succinct descriptions of life ever--as true today as it was in 1965 (as well as with the other lines also).  Happy 70th Bob, and many more.

"Offence's gilded hand may shove by justice,
And oft 'tis seen the wicked prize itself
      Buys out the law"
      Hamlet, Act III (Claudius)
