  •  That is a great story. (4+ / 0-)

Years ago people used to be confused because my one pierced ear is on the "straight" side (yes, back in the 80's when I was young there was that distinction, for a while). When asked I always said "My ear was pierced by acquaintance I barely knew with a cheap stud on one side and a potato on the other and a nearly empty bottle of vodka on the table in a foreign country when I was 19 years old. I didn't care which ear she pierced, as long as it was over before I passed out".

That is an answer, of course, that I DID NOT give in the classroom. Yours is very classy and appropriate, though. ;)

Oh, and by the way, when I get mistaken for straight (which actually does happen quite a bit, especially when I'm up being all butch and rural on The Rock) I always take that as a compliment.

The other year, I told the only townie chick that didn't know I was gay who was a little drunk and hitting on me "honey, I'm as gay as Christmas". She said: "I hear that never stopped you before". My response: "Well, tonight, it DOES". LOL.

Craft is what emerges when you hit inspiration over the head with a stick.
