    Brandishing a bladed weapon at someone because of a disagreement about wardrobe choices on a low-brow television sitcom isn't impolite, it's violent and scary.

    If being a progressive means you have to elide the gap between those two things, then so much the worse for progressivism.

      that reality sometimes offers up lousy and limited choices, poor decisions and actions during the heat of the moment which end up making situations more just. It's a messy world for polite progressives.
