In the Generic. I hope it does.

except for fundraising, and the sad dance of no-hopers in the opposition trying to get media attention so as to get their names included in polls so as to fundraise.

One question I have is, having voted in high percentages against the Democrats in 2010, can older Americans turn around and vote against Republicans, or is the cognitive dissonance too great for many of them? From my standpoint, their votes were rather senseless in the first place, so it's hard for me to see how things will change. I have the idea that many older Americans don't like change, such as the idea of a black President or new health programs that largely didn't involve them but included cuts in Medicare spending that many of them weren't convinced wouldn't hurt them.

Is all of this making sense, or does it sound like I'm totally talking through my hat? I can take criticism and correction, if you've got some.

I can think of one exception: Truman and the "Do-Nothing Congress." But that was a hell of a long time ago!
