I think Stewart goes to Fox because someone has to. I think he honestly believes that if he goes there and speaks some truth, that someone out there might rethink their drink. I think Stewart is smart enough to realize that 99% of O'Reilly's audience won't change their minds, but that the 1% is worth his time and trouble.

Stewart is famous enough, and if he wants more love and attention, he can get it in much easier places with far more in the way of cooperation from whomever he's bantering with.

But as you correctly say, to each his/her own.

..mean "someone" has to go on FOX?

Democratic politicians are constantly on FOX.

They make fools of themselves, & embarass the Democratic party, & embarass the president, & become compromised by right wing talking points, but they are defintely constantly there.

It's not Jon Stewart's job to go on FOX & clean up the messes Democratic politicians leave behind after they've appeared on that bullshit network.

It's Stewart's job to make money for his Comedy Central bosses, & that's why Stewart appears in front of O'Reilly 3 times a year & conducts a cable TV carnival act.

      •  Maybe that's exactly why (0+ / 0-)

Jon decided to go to Fox. The Democrats are most of the time pathetic in Fox News and couldn't properly argue even the most stupid foxrage spewed out, that Jon felt that he should straighten things up a bit. It's not Jon's job, but he does it much more competently than your usual Democratic rooster in Foxaganda.
