  •  I condemn the use of right-wing tactics (0+ / 0-)

Consider: Breitbart is attempting to silence Ancel over what she had reason to believe was a private moment with her students.

Similarly, if Andrew Breitbart did something legal but embarrassing, it shouldn't be used against him.

Right-wing tactics involve intimidation, not over wrongful acts that people have done, but over legal things that--if made public-- could result in shame, or even loss of employment. A tape of what a person does with their spouse in private would, if released to the public, probably humiliate them, no matter how loving the act was.

When one has right on one's side, one does not need to use wrongful means. I'm not a right-winger precisely because they use wrongful means so often.

    •  I'm all for getting tough with the right (0+ / 0-)

I don't support lying or cheating, but getting tough, absolutely. Saying mean things, namecalling, underhanded-but-legal tactics, etc. I support all of that, because the Right is using that against us and why concede them a major advantage. When we try to be "above the fray" or anything like that, we get hosed. We can't really bring around a progressive agenda if we are always noble losers. Look how far that got Mike Dukakis.
